The Night Before Christmas Sock Set- 120g/480m

£36.00

This is the 2025 version of my annual Night Before Christmas Sock Set- it first glance it may look grey, but this beauty did in fact take three dye baths to get this generous and deep colour- first of all into the indigo vat, then mordanted, then into a madder root vat, and then into a logwood bath, gently speckled. A long process if ever there was one (about five days so this is a one of a kind, unrepeatable colourway).

This yarn has been spun up especially for WMFC and it’s super special. It is a nylon free, non- superwash UK sourced and spun yarn suitable for socks. It has a higher than usual twist, making it durable yet comfortable on the toes. It would also be suitable for shawls or perhaps even a lightweight sweater!

When using yarn dyed with indigo please be aware that is may ‘crock’ off while knitting onto hands and needles. It may continue to crock off with wear wherever pressure is applied. Please note that this is not considered a fault, but the normal wearing process of indigo. You can read more about it here: https://www.woollymammothfibrecompany.com/faq
