Shop

Why is your shop sold out?

I make as much as I can with the time I have available, and I put it all on my website for sale at the same time. This cuts down on admin/ photography time and lets me use my time in the most efficient manner. This usually happens once per month, sometimes more sometimes less. The announcement bar at the top of my website will let you know when the next shop update will be.

How can I buy yarn?

My yarn generally sells out very quickly so if you would like to purchase something I would recommend checking out the Journal to see what will be coming up in the next update- colours and bases will be listed there, along with anything else that may be in the next update. You can check on my Instagram bio, the journal or the announcement banner at the top of the website to see what time and date the next shop update will be. I always make as much as I am able to, so if you miss out on occasion, I would love it if you would be able to try again another time. I also have a Youtube channel which showcases a shop update preview- you can check it out by clicking this link.

Natural Dyes

Colour fading, bleeding and indigo crocking

Eventually, all natural dyes will fade- chemical dyed articles will also fade! This is one of the reasons I love them- they will inherit a memory and history of their own. To ensure the long life of your naturally dyed yarn/ garment, store out of sunlight in an airtight container when not being worn and wash with a gentle no rinse, ph neutral wool wash in cold - lukewarm water. Dry flat.

It is also possible that the pH of certain colours may change due to different acidities of tap water around the world. Natural dyes are natural, and sometimes thing like this can happen! WMFC cannot take responsibility for this.

It’s possible that because I dye on non- super wash yarns that the dye may bleed a little when first washed- please bear this in mind when first rinsing your item. It is always recommended to create a swatch and then block it before doing before starting any project. With indigo, it’s quite normal for the dye to ‘crock’ off a little when knitting with it as pressure is applied- this is the normal wearing process of indigo and not considered a fault. You can put a little dash of white vinegar into the rinsing bath to combat this as much as possible when you are ready to swatch and again when you block. WMFC will not be held responsible for any colour transfer to light coloured garments. Please take care when first wearing the item as friction can rub off the indigo onto other things (think new jeans!).

Safety

WMFC will not be held responsible for any harm caused by allergic reaction, or similar. Please ask before you buy if there is something you might possibly be allergic to! Once the yarn has arrived with the customer, it is their responsibility to use the yarn in a responsible manner.
